This is Desmond T. Doss, the first conscientious objector to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor. Technically, he wasn't a conscientious objector because he really wanted to serve in World War II as a medic, he just wasn't willing to bear arms or kill another human being to do it. I don't want to give the rest of the story away, except to say that if you have an extra couple hours and want to have your life changed by someone who never once wavered from his convictions please watch this beautiful documentary about him.
