This is Bill Cunningham. He is a fashion photographer for the New York Times and the subject of a new documentary called Bill Cunningham New York, which is remarkable. I don't want to reveal too much, but suffice it to say that what makes him interesting is how much he cares about fashion and how little he cares about the fashion world. The filmmakers have captured a highly sensitive, slightly eccentric man with boundless integrity. They have given us a glimpse of a photographer through whose lens the world is a true meritocracy.
